Drone worry, it’s normal

Seeing a lot of flying objects hovering in the air a lot lately?

Dont’ freak out.

Shutterbugs in Singapore are fully embracing the use of drones in aerial photography.

Some 80 photography of them gathered in an open field in Outram Park yesterday to fly drones mounted with cameras, demonstrating how the hobby has taken flight here in the city.

Normally associated with war zones in Afghanistan and Iraq, the drones were part of an aerial photography session in conjunction with Tanjong Pagar Photographic Club‘s 10th anniversary.

With more people picking up the hobby, the club is planning to conduct courses on how to use drones safely.

There are no specific rules governing the use of drones currently, but the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS) determines where they can fly and caps the maximum flight height at 60m.
