End of another Baconator era: The last of Wendy’s Singapore outlets have shut down

Fans of Wendy’s Baconators will no longer be able to have a bite of those succulent beef patties here, as it seems that the fast food chain has shut down all of its outlets in Singapore.

Their last ever outlet in the National University of Singapore’s U-Town sold its last burgers, baked potatoes and chilli cheese fries on Apr 30, effectively meaning that all Wendy’s restaurants have closed, according to Popspoken. Multiple staff across different outlets have also confirmed to the website that the chain was indeed pulling out of the country.

This would mean it is the second time the American fast-food chain has ditched Singapore. They first made their foray into the market here in the 1980s with outlets in Far East Plaza and Parkway Parade but left the market soon after. It returned to Singapore in December 2009 and by 2012 they had a total of 11 outlets.

Despite the closure, the Wendy’s Singapore website and Facebook page are still up and running, listing their outlets at Lau Pa Sat and U-Town to be active.
