Eat with MP Baey Yam Keng tomorrow, pay only $2.50

Think Tampines’ representing MP Baey Yam Keng didn’t respond well to all the nasty talk about his suspiciously cheap plate of nasi padang?

Well, we think he’s pretty much blowing all the other publicity stunts out of the water with this one.

The city’s favourite selfie addict has just announced on his Facebook page that he’ll be at the Al Madina Muslim Restaurant (block 475, Tampines) tomorrow, 1pm, to support a charity drive.

And get this, the drive involves the coffeeshop selling food combos (that’s a meal and a drink, folks) for $2.50 to raise money for the Tampines North welfare fund.

Call it what you want, but we’re going to remember this as ‘the great $2.50 nasi padang turnaround’.

Now everyone can enjoy the ‘MP price’ of $2.50, and for a good cause!

The shop’s selling 100 sets a day from Sat — Sun, 11am — 2pm, and someone’s even going to match the total contribution dollar to dollar.

So… see you there?
