East-West Line hit by long delays for second day in a row due to track fault

Even as the year comes to an end, our public transport system reminds us that our frequent commuting woes will never be over — train services on the East-West line was delayed yet again this morning. And this after a similar delay yesterday on the same line.

Trouble reared its head at 7.49am this morning when SMRT announced that commuters should expect an additional 10 minutes to their travelling time from Joo Koon to Clementi towards Pasir Ris. That’s alright, what’s 10 extra minutes right?

Then they added another five minutes to the delay….

Then another five minutes…

Before finally bumping it up to a frustrating half-an-hour delay.

It was only about 10am that SMRT gave the all clear for their train services.

Another day, another delay — 2016’s not going to be any different.
