A car crashed into a tree early this morning along Changi Coast Road, and the aftermath was tragic — the fatal casualty was in his 20s, and five other injured men were rushed to Changi General Hospital.
The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) was alerted at about 6.35am, dispatching a fire engine, a Red Rhino, five ambulances and two other support vehicles to the crash site. Rescuers managed to extricate the driver using hydraulic tools, but he was subsequently pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics.
The rest of the injured — all men in their 20s and 30s — were conveyed to Changi General Hospital. According to the SCDF, two of them were unconscious.
Investigations are ongoing.
