Dude nearly fools everyone by pimping his electric bicycle to look like a spiffy motorbike

Though at a passing glance you may not notice it, this cheeky dude actually might not be riding a road-ready motorbike.

Through some clever modding of chassis, some appropriate stickers, a couple of well placed compartment boxes and the donning of a vivid motorcycle helmet, an electric bicycle was transformed into a nifty two-wheeler that almost passed off as a legit mini-bike.

Caleb Ronald Rose wasn’t easily fooled though — he called bullshit on the rider straight away, spotting the absence of a number plate and an In-Vehicle Unit (IU).

“So… like that can ah?” Caleb wrote in a now-viral Facebook post. “Wear helm e-bike make until like bike and ride like an actual bike? No road tax no insurance no number plate? Win already.” We get his displeasure though — we’ve paid thousands of dollars to earn the right to use the roads, and yet this dude had the gall to do the same, and most probably without a driving license too.

Though the dude was right to use the electric bicycle on the roads (plus, he’s wearing an Arai helmet), the bike’s probably rigged up to go beyond 25kmh, the maximum speed ruled by the authorities for personal mobility devices. At least the dude’s actually obeying traffic lights, unlike the two e-biking dumbasses who got some sense knocked into them in a car collision
