An Australian man — who boarded a British Airways flight at Changi Airport totally intoxicated — made a fool of himself by being a total drunken idiot en route to Sydney, causing the plane to turn back to Singapore.
35-year-old Kobacker Marlon Shae started getting a touchy-feely with the female passenger sitting next to him, rubbing his hand over her thigh and hand, and even tried to kiss her as the plane was taxiing on the runway of Terminal 1 back in March.
The ruckus he caused forced the flight to return to Changi Airport, where two police officers arrived to arrest Shae, The New Paper reports. Both of them noted that his face was flushed, and it was later discovered that his blood contained an excessive amount of alcohol at 224mg of ethanol per 100ml of blood — triple the legal limit for driving.
The troubles did not stop there however. As a police officer informed him that he was being arrested, Shae struggled with the lawmen and kicked 31-year-old Sergeant Zaki Ayob on his jaw.
Later on, when Shae was detained in the back of a police vehicle at the airport, he kicked the other police officer — 20-year-old Corporal Imran Ramlan — in the face.
Both of them suffered bruises inflicted by Shae.
In court, he was sentenced to a total of two months and three weeks in prison for his actions. Deputy Public Prosecutor Allison Phua mentioned that he had disrupted the lives of all 297 people on board when his exploits caused the plane to turn back and left the flight delayed by close to two hours.
