Dreadful morning for Circle Line passengers as train services disrupt during rush hour

Train troubles just keep comin’, and it’s only the third month of the year.

The Circle Line train services were disrupted in the early rush hours today, causing a proper gridlock of human traffic across the yellow line stations.

SMRT first put out a tweet this morning at 7:51am, alerting commuters of the disruption of train services from Labrador Park towards Harbourfront station due to signal fault. Later on, services at Pasir Panjang station was also halted, as SMRT deployed free public and shuttle buses to transport displaced commuters.

According to various media reports and social media chatter, the amount of commuters packing up the MRT stations got so bad that staff had to stop them from taking the escalators down to the platform.

It was only later close to 8:30am that train services between Pasir Panjang and HarbourFront resumed.

Must’ve been a fun morning.
