Travelling’s gonna get a whole lot easier across the Little Red Dot when the Downtown Line 3 (DTL3) opens on October 21. The 21km, 16-station line — which goes from Fort Canning station to Jalan Besar and Bendemeer, followed by Geylang Bahru, MacPherson, Ubi, Bedok North, Upper Changi and Expo — will complete the three-stage 42km MRT line, making it Singapore’s longest underground driverless train system.
According to the Land Transport Authority, this launch will reduce travel time from Kaki Bukit to Tampines from 25 minutes by bus to 10 minutes by train.
If you recall, the SBS Transit-operated Downtown Line 1 debuted in December 2013, while Downtown Line 2 opened in December 2015.
