There’s no such thing as a free flight. Or at least, the opportunities are rare. For those not in the know, Singapore Airlines warned of scammers impersonating its employees to offer free flights a couple days ago. Now, AirAsia has also taken to cautioning people against scammers.
The budget carrier revealed that there has been a social media post circulating around with an online survey offering free flights. Apparently, participants have to answer questions to redeem vouchers.
Another scam making the rounds on Facebook claimed to offer 268 free tickets up for grabs in “conjunction” with AirAsia’s 28th anniversary. “Both scams used the AirAsia brand without authorisation and aim to lure the public to participate in it,” said AirAsia.
The airline maintained that it would not be held liable for claims concerning the false scheme and warned it would take legal action against anyone using its brand to conduct illegal schemes.
At the end of the day, just be on guard the next time you come across something as unbelievable as free flights.
