Diabetic man beats up mother for nagging him to drink more milk

We all know just how annoyingly naggy our mums can get, but damn dude, we’ve never had the need to beat them up over it.

30-year-old Xu Xiang Jing, however, wasn’t such a filial son when he punched his own mother multiple times — all because he was irritated over her continuous nagging about the importance of drinking milk.

Even so, 63-year-old Yeo Poo Moi was just being concerned for her diabetic son — she had bought the milk for Xu’s health.

In court, Xu pleaded guilty to punching his mother multiple times in the shoulder, causing her to suffer bruises, The New Paper reported. He did call the police afterwards and confessed that he hit his mother.

The incident took place on the morning of July 7 in the kitchen of their Bukit Batok flat, where his mother told him that he was not drinking enough milk. Xu’s annoyance built up as his mother continued to nag even after he went to his room.

Losing his temper, he went to the kitchen to topple a shelf and caused some glass bottles to break. As Yeo went to clear the mess, Xu pushed her to the floor and punched her repeatedly on the shoulder.

A medical report revealed that the attack left Yeo with a large bruise on her upper left arm and ruptured blood vessels on her left shoulder.

In his mitigation, Xu expressed his regret over hitting his mother and asked for a second chance to live at home with her.

But the judge was concerned about his mental state and asked the prosecution to see if he was suitable for Mandatory Treatment Order, where he’ll have to attend mandatory psychiatric treatment sessions.

Xu will face his sentence in November.
