Singapore has signed an Open Skies Agreement (OSA) with Jamaica, allowing designated airlines including of course, the Singapore Airlines (SIA), to fly between the two countries and through a third country without constraints on flight frequencies, capacity or aricraft type.
The deed was signed by Singapore’s Minister of Transport Mr. Lui Tuck Yew and Minister without portfolio in the Minstry of Transport, Works and Housing of Jamaica Dr. Morais Guy, at the 28th International Maritime Organization Assembly in London.
Mr. Lui said that the signing of the OSA reflects the warm bilateral ties between Singapore and Jamaica and also highlights both countries’ commitment to establish a complete framework of liberal air services, which will allow carriers to quickly react to market demand should opportunities arise.
