Decomposed body of man reported missing found along BKE

A family’s search for their missing elderly father came to a mournful end yesterday morning when the police found his body lying in the grass next to the Bukit Timah Expressway (BKE) towards Woodlands Checkpoint.

78-year-old Ow Lew Bin had been reported missing since Jun 5, sending his family searching for him around four to five hours each day, his daughter-in-law noted to The New Paper. She even made an appeal on Facebook and posted notices across Marsiling to ask for information about her missing father-in-law.

Ow lived in Marsiling and would often go for evening walks on his own, buying 4-D or visit the hawker centres and the market nearby. Though this was the first time he went missing, the police once brought him home after he got drunk.

The elderly man’s severely decomposed body was found with empty bottles of alcohol nearby along with some cash and a damaged identity card. The police are currently investigating the unnatural death.
