This morning (Apr 13), the dead body of a Chinese man in his 60s surfaced in the Singapore River. It is believed that a cleaner who worked in the area made the discovery, and the police were alerted to the case around 8am. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics.
According to The Straits Times, onlookers saw a forensic vehicle and police cars at Connaught Drive around 10am. A cordon was set up at Esplanade Park, and police officers were seen questioning two boatmen.
Investigations into the unnatural death are ongoing.
