It’s been three days since AirAsia flight QZ8501 disappeared from all contact, and the search continues today with forces from the United States, China, France joining in the search and locate operations.
The Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) has offered the MV Swift Rescue, a submarine support-and-rescue vessel while the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore offered their personnel and additional equipment, including a sidescan sonar system and a robotic remotely-operated vehicle, TODAY reports.
The underwater tools, vessels and equipment will be aiding the efforts of the Singapore Ministry of Transport’s Air Accident Investigation Bureau, who yesterday offered two teams of specialists and two sets of underwater locator beacon detectors.
Already, Singapore has provided three ships and three aircrafts to comb the Java Sea in search for the whereabouts of the missing jetliner.
