We really shouldn’t be laughing at this. No. But hear us out.
A dashcam clip of a cyclist flipping over a kerb after swerving from the right lane — and nearly causing a collision with a car — went viral on social media, because schadenfreude. While we don’t know what he was doing on the right-most lane in the first place, we can’t help but feel bad for the poor chap, who had to endure a painful cartwheeling accident.
The driver, who appeared to have aggressively honked at the cyclist, might have given him such a scare that he got shook enough to lose control of the bike. In the final few seconds, the driver let out a huge “LE SIAO AH” that gave us a little chuckle (and we do feel bad for it).
Here’s the video:
After some further CSI-ing, we found two versions of the video — the original footage (53 seconds) and the edited shorter version (26 seconds). Watch the longer version here to get some context on why the driver was honking so aggressively.
Thanks to the comments section, we have a clearer story now. The cyclist seems to have whizzed from the right and filtered into the left lane without checking —which was pretty reckless to say the least — earning the ire of the driver. It looks like both are at fault, and as they say, two wrongs don’t make a right. Still, the driver could have been a little more compassionate and helped out the poor cyclist who was probably in pain, instead of yelling at the dude.
