Yesterday, a 41-year-old Singapore permanent resident pleaded guilty to getting a minor to have sex with an 18-year-old as he photographed the activities.
A gag order has been placed on the accused, victim and witness, according to The Straits Times.
The former IT specialist posted a Craigslist classified, stating that he was “Hoping to fulfil my girlfriend’s fantasies; seeking an extra man”. Perhaps details were not clear — when a 15-year-old boy (then a Secondary 4 student in 2012) responded, claiming that he was an 18-year-old.
Without verifying the minor’s age, the man arranged a meeting with the boy, the part-time model and him at Conrad Centennial Hotel along Temasek Boulevard.
Inside the room, the minor claimed to be a first-year polytechnic student. The part-time model told the minor she was in her second-year of polytechnic student, but had recently dropped out of school.
Claiming to be a businessman, the accused prepared his photography equipment and instructed the minor to pose with the model as he took photos. Shortly after, the accused instructed the model to strip the minor, who at that point felt uneasy. The accused dispelled the minor’s fears, telling him that the photos were only for his personal use.
The accused then directed the 18-year-old to remove her clothes, and got the two to interact in sexual acts while he continued to take photos. At one point of time, the accused participated by getting into the fray. After 20 to 30 minutes, the accused gave the minor a condom packet, and directed him to have sex with the model.
Before leaving, the model was paid S$250 by the accused.
The unlawful act was made known on in January last year when someone came across the photographs online. The accused may now face up to 10 years’ imprisonment and a fine.
