After being ‘inspired’ by a Tumblr blog showing videos of unknowing women being filmed while inside unisex changing rooms, 22-year-old voyeur Loh Wei Quan decided to make his own videos for the world to see.
He spent nine months visiting different outlets of Cotton On — a brand popular with teenages — illicitly filming whoever was in the changing room next to his.
If it turned out to be a man, he would erase the clips. If it was a woman, he would replay them again and again.
When Loh was finally caught at a Bedok branch (by a female customer who noticed him filming and reported it to a Cotton On staff), it was right after he victimised a 14-year-old girl, who was “shocked and started crying” when shown the five-minute video footage of her, reports The Straits Times.
Loh has admitted to 16 of 50 charges (insulting modesty and possession of obscene films) and slapped with a 32-week jail sentence. He has been diagnosed with voyeurism and is seeking treatment, according to the report.
