OK this is more than cool — it’s downright amazing.
British architectural artist Stephen Wiltshire has completed a stunning four-metre-wide panorama of the Singapore skyline, and get this: he drew the entire thing from memory.
Wiltshire, who suffers from autism, was awarded an MBE in 2006 for “services to the art world”. He’s known globally for his accurate, lifelike representations of cities, often created without having deeply studied the subject.
Over the last five days, the 40-year-old showcased his masterful sense of perspective and natural, innate artistry at Paragon mall, under the watch of thousands of supporters, as well as Singapore’s Minister for Culture, Community and Youth Mr. Lawrence Wong.
When speaking with The Straits Times, Wiltshire proclaimed the Marina Bay Sands his favourite building because it was “beautiful”, “modern” and “futuristic”.
He also thanked his supporters and advised them to “do the best you can, and never stop”.
