A sports car driver recently had a very close shave when a cabbie abruptly swerved into his lane, seemingly without checking the blindspot.
Motorist Brandon Chng had been driving in the vicinity of Bukit Panjang in his convertible (with the top down, that must’ve been pretty fun) on the left-most lane. Ahead of him on the right-most lane was a Mercedes cab, which suddenly braked and veered into his path with very little warning. Granted, the cabbie did signal that he was turning left — but didn’t seem to see another car in the left lane.
Luckily for the convertible driver, his split-second manoeuvring and some extra space afforded by a bus stop managed to save him from an ugly crash. Even luckier, he got it all on tape for evidence, in case the cabbie wanted to press charges. According to his Facebook post, the cabbie and the passenger even wanted to look for trouble.
