Confectionary extravaganza Fantasia by Escriba has been postponed to Aug. 22 — 24, from the originally scheduled weekend of June 27 — 29.
In a press release, event organisers Escriba Events Pte Ltd cited logistical and technical challenges as reasons for the delay. Set-up construction onsite alone will take three days, while the dismantling of exhibits and displays – including full-scale animal models such as elephants and giraffes — will take an estimated two days.
“As this is the first event of its kind – and of such an unprecedented scale – in the world, it is an ongoing learning process for all involved. Given the sheer volume of speciality materials to be handled and the technical complexity of construction – as many of the items are being specially produced just for this show – our event set-up and take-down times have increased significantly,” said Maria Leow, spokesperson for Escriba Events.
Instead of the original venue of Marina Bay Sands Convention Centre, the event will shift to Halls D and E, providing easier access to visitors arriving by MRT via the Bayfront station.
