The sale and consumption of alcohol on Race Course Road in Little India, where a riot involving about 400 people occurred on Dec. 8, will be completely banned this weekend.
According to Channel NewsAsia, Second Home Affairs Minister S Iswaran stated that the measure is to stabilise the situation and give the police proper time to access the incident before taking more steps.
The alcohol ban will be implemented by the police. Stakeholders in the affected area will be contacted.
