Complaints of reckless e-scooter users riding at high speeds on the rise; LTA taking action

Recently, cases of reckless e-scooter riders have been on the rise. You might’ve seen them in action or watched videos of them speeding in the middle of roads — yes, the very same ones occupied by cars, buses and motorcycles.

Like these two guys who look like they’re zooming along without a care in the world.

This led to netizens expressing concerns about safety and complaining to the Land Transport Authority about speeding e-scooters on footpaths and roads. In response, the LTA conducted several operations at various locations over the past few weeks and seized the e-scooters of these two errant riders below.

Reminder: It is an offence to use your personal mobility devices on the road, and enforcement action will be taken against you if you are caught.

In case you haven’t heard, the LTA has already nabbed over 700 cyclists, e-scooter and e-bike users since May.
