As former president Bill Clinton rounds up a delegation of officials from the Unites States to attend the State Funeral this Sunday for the late Lee Kuan Yew, former US secretary of state Colin Powell has also given his tribute to Singapore’s first Prime Minister.

According to The Straits Times, Powell had met Lee on multiple occasions while serving under president George W. Bush, and said it was a privilege to know him over the years.

Signing the condolence book at the Singapore embassy in Washington, Powell hailed Lee’s vision and determination and called him a leader who made many great things happen in Singapore.

Senators such as John McCain, Jack Reed and Cory Gardner also dropped by to sign the book. They all praised Lee for his wisdom and exceptional leadership.
