Co-founders of Google and Alphabet visit Singapore for the first time

Larry Page and Sergey Brin, the co-founders of Google and Alphabet, are in town. This marks their first ever visit to Singapore, and the duo met Deputy Prime Minister Tharman Shanmugaratnam at the National Gallery Singapore yesterday to learn about our country’s development history. They also stopped by the Port of Singapore and the URA City Gallery.

According to TODAY, managing director of the Economic Development Board Yeoh Keat Chuan explained, ‘EDB has been working closely with Google to leverage our strong base of engineering talent, availability of lead demand partners and ICT infrastructure to grow their operations in Singapore and business in the region.’

Not much else has been said about the pair’s stopover here – Google declined to reveal more details.
