Clearing the Air: Nee Soon launches first community-led smoke-free zone

We’re starting to look a lot more like Japan, folks, and in a good way.

On Jan. 5, Nee Soon launched its first community-led smoke-free zone, which has six Designated Smoking Points (DSP), each made up of three-sided translucent partitions with weighted parasols.

Each DSP will have the Health Promotion Board’s Blue Ribbon ambassadors on standby to make sure people use the DSPs and inform people about the one-year pilot initiative.

At this point, smoking is already banned in outdoor public areas like bus stops, covered linkways and void decks.
