Several Citi, DBS, OCBC and UOB bank customers have fallen victim to credit card fraud in the last few days.
According to TODAY, victims say they’d received text notifications informing them of transactions connected to a Neweb Technologies.
The amount charged to their card each time was said to fall under the $50 mark.
The Association of Banks in Singapore (ABS) reveals investigations are currently being carried out and that affected cardholders will not be liable for the fraudulent transactions.
The affected banks have not revealed how many of their customers have been affected by the incident, but assure that victims will not be liable for the fraudulent transactions and will be reimbursed. Steps have been taken to block transaction activity from the Taiwanese merchant and affected cards are promptly being replaced.
