Chinatown Food Street reopening delayed, may not join CNY festivities

The revamped Chinatown Food Street may not open in time for Chinese New Year.

Originally slated for a mid-January opening, the attraction featuring 21 outdoor food stalls will take a couple of days to finish completely, but may not even open then due to the need to apply for a Temporary Occupation Permit from the Building & Construction Authority (BCA).

Operator Select Group said the growing crowd in the area preparing for the Chinese New Year celebrations is one of the reasons for its delay.
