The Cheers employee who picked unnecessary fights with the police last week is going to be fired for his bad behavior.

The convenience store chain announced today that they have given orders to dismiss the staff, known only as Jonathan based on his social media profile, from the Lau Pa Sat outlet after the TikTok videos he posted of himself refusing to cooperate with the authorities went viral.

“Following the incident that occurred on 1 Jan at our franchise store located at Lau Pa Sat, having spoken with the staff and assessed the incident, we have instructed our franchisee to dismiss the staff involved,” Cheers wrote.

Cheers added that they do not condone his acts that “undermine” the police and that all staff should cooperate with them.

On Monday, Jonathan posted a series of videos documenting the events that followed a police report made at the store after he claimed that a drunk man impersonated a police officer and insulted him.

Instead of cooperating with the police, he repeatedly refused to let the police help him investigate the case by denying to show his identification card to them. He finally handed it over after several warnings, which gave police the green light to arrest him for “obstructing” investigations.
