The Golden Mile shopping complex played host to a heinous scene last Wednesday when a man got his head stomped on repeatedly by a young hooligan — the episode was caught on video that went viral over the weekend.
Footage depicted a lad in a white shirt with his friends confronting two men, one of whom was already lying on the floor outside a closed store when the video starts. Wee Boon How could clearly be seen stomping hard several times on the fallen victim’s head, while the rest of the men simply looked on.

Police confirmed that they arrested the 22-year-old suspect on Saturday.
As for the victim — 25-year-old Bong Hong Yun — he was taken conscious to a hospital at about 3am on Wednesday morning. The attack left him with multiple facial fractures on the right side of his face, but he has since been discharged.
Yesterday, police brought him to the scene of the crime as part of their investigations. The suspect was seen answering questions as they did a walk through on the first floor of the mall along Beach Road.

Staring match
Channel NewsAsia found out that the confrontation that led to the heinous American History X-style ambush was apparently… a staring match. What happened was that the suspect had been on the way to the toilet when he encountered the victim, and the stare-down ensued. The suspect then attacked the other party, and it all culminated in the viciously violent conclusion.
Wee has since been charged in court for voluntarily causing grievous hurt, and he will face up to 10 years in prison and caning or a fine. He reportedly intends to engage private counsel and plans to plead guilty to the crime.
