That’s right — the World’s Best Airport of 2016 has yet another title to add under its belt: a proud runner-up position alongside Delhi Airport and Mumbai Airport as the region’s second best airport for customer service. Changi Airport may have lost to Seoul’s Incheon Airport for the honour of first place, but it’ll always be number one in our hearts. China’s Beijing Airport and Haikou Airport came in joint-third.
The Airport Service Quality Awards 2016 is the Airports Council International’s (ACI) way of surveying the satisfaction level of passengers all over the world on the day of their travel, and it’s measured with 34 benchmarks including passengers’ views of airport access, security screening, restrooms and restaurants. Each airport puts out the same survey to compare themselves against one another.
For the annual awards, some 600,000 surveys were conducted across 84 countries in 41 languages. Changi Airport also came in joint-second place (behind Incheon Airport again) with the same two Indian airports for the best airport by size award.
The upcoming Skytrax World Airport Awards 2017, which will be out next Tuesday (Mar 14), will determine if Changi Airport can retain its number one spot for the fifth year running.
