With the plethora of all the usual negativity peppered on social media and ‘citizen journalism’ sites (*cough* Stomp *cough*), it’s always nice to see genuinely positive stories of people going viral.
In a satire of all the usual social media trappings of a viral public complaint, celebrity chef Shahrizal Salleh (aka Chef Bob for Hire) went to Facebook to post his own story. Not about yet another bad customer service experience — but about a superb employee of Harvey Norman’s Millenia Walk outlet: Felix Chin.
“I was expecting a very rude, couldn’t care less, groggy ah pek. I expected likewise because I read alot about these impolite, donno how to p.r, poor oral hygiene sales rep from independent news portal every single time,” wrote Shahrizal on Facebook.
Growing increasingly surprised by Chin’s excellent customer service throughout the three days he was there, he writes about the increasing ‘frustration’ of not being able to complain about him. All tongue-in-cheek of course, and he also walked out the store happy with a new refrigerator.
“I was ready to jump in the pampered Singaporean bandwagon with my whiny complaint. But sadly this gentleman uncle Felix Chin didn’t give me a single chance. How annoying.”

I am utterly disappointed by this man. I never do this type of thing. It’s not me. But everyone must know about this…
