In the latest case of suspected animal abuse (this time in Boon Lay), a woman recently found her pet cat with severe injuries on its body.

It is believed that the cat slipped out of the owner’s flat, and was found again at a staircase landing of Block 176 along Boon Lay Drive on June 29.

Due to the circumstances in which the cat was found and the nature of its injuries, it is believed that the cat suffered an act of cruelty. The cat’s skin appears visibly torn around the belly and limbs, and it was brought to a private veterinary clinic after it was found, according to The Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) Singapore.

Don’t worry though — the feline’s currently recovering well from its injuries. Julie Amir, the cat’s owner, has since provided netizens an update on poor little Momot. Being an indoor cat, Julie believes that Momot might have slipped out of the house when the gate was unlocked while she was preparing to send her kids to school.

SPCA has also placed physical notices around the area, as well as offered a $1,000 reward for any information leading to the person(s) responsible.
