The two injured men from the horrendous crash on the Seletar Expressway (SLE) on Monday morning are currently being treated in the intensive care unit of Khoo Teck Puat Hospital for multiple severe injuries and fractures.
The dashcam clip of the accident went viral online — graphic footage showed how a motorcyclist and his passenger crashed into the back of a stationary car, hurling the latter into the air before landing several meters in front of the car.
More details have emerged since the clip was shared widely. The motorcyclist was 24-year-old Danny Raj Muniappan and his passenger was 21-year-old Trivikram R L — both are Malaysian citizens working as Certis Cisco officers at Changi Airport. The Straits Times reported that they had just ended their shift that morning when the accident took place around 10:30am on the SLE, right before the Lentor Avenue exit.
Following the accident, they were rushed to Khoo Teck Puat Hospital, where they were placed in the intensive care unit. Danny suffered a ruptured bladder and a fractured pelvic bone, and he lost a lot of blood. His left arm and left leg were broken in two places each, and he has been unconscious since the accident.
As for Trivikram, he suffered a fractured pelvic bone as well as a broken leg, and has been flitting in and out of consciousness since the accident. He has not yet been able to speak.
Speaking to The Straits Times, Danny’s father noted that doctors will have to wait till next week to operate as the motorcyclist has “some swelling and blood clots in his brain”.
Their employer, Certis Cisco, has assured it will be extending help to both men and their families. Danny and Trivikram are said to be good friends living together in a rented home in Johor Baru.
