A car was seen engulfed in flames on the Pan Island Expressway (PIE) last night after it was involved in an accident with two other cars. The other two vehicles, which appeared to have collided head-on, were spotted just in front of the one on fire.
The Singapore Civil Defence Force confirmed that it was notified of a vehicle fire on the PIE towards Tuas after Clementi Avenue 6 around 8:55pm, and flames were extinguished with a water jet.
According to The Straits Times, an explosion was heard coming from the car on fire. One eyewitness told Channel NewsAsia that traffic was slow in the vicinity of the accident, but there was no congestion along the stretch of road.
No injuries were reported, and the cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
