This morning, a clip surfaced on the Roads.sg Facebook page showing a baffled car driving along the pedestrian walkway in front of the entrance of City Square Mall. According to the post, the incident occurred on the junction of Kitchener Road and Kitchener Link yesterday around 12:12pm.
Perhaps the driver was confused — the entry to the mall’s drop-off point is along Kitchener Road after all — and made a wrong turn.
Whatever the case, the short video showed the car slowly cruising along the pavement and coming to a halt at the traffic junction, where it could exit and join its fellow brethren on actual roads. Funnily enough, most pedestrians crossing the road towards City Square seemed completely unconcerned about the fact that there was a vehicle chillin’ right there. They simply gave it a wide berth, tossing it nothing more than a passing glance, before walking around the car as if it were nothing but an obstacle on their way to dine and shop.
No biggie, just another car appearing where it shouldn’t be.
This comment just about sums it up.
