The nation’s second-favourite tech shopping haunt (Sim Lim Square is still the best, despite its many flaws), will be closing its doors for three years starting this July, but that doesn’t mean it’ll have to be a dreary affair.
In a campaign titled “#BeyondIT”, real estate firm CapitaLand wants the public to submit their ideas for Funan DigitaLife Mall, which will be redeveloped into a creative hub of sorts.
“We wanted to involve the public in the redevelopment of this Singapore landmark; by inviting them to share with us their aspirations for the new integrated development and journey with us as the mall embarks on the future,” said CapitaLand Limited President and Group CEO Lim Ming Yan.
Submissions can be pretty free-ranging — folks can submit images, videos or text across the given categories of ‘Play’, ‘Create’ and ‘Live’. The best entries can even find a spot on the hoarding of the new development itself as large-scale graffiti. You can find the submission portal here.
