Candy Crush maker acquires local gaming startup for up to USD90m

The creator of worldwide hit game Candy Crush, King, has bought over Non-Stop Games, the first time a local gaming startup has been acquired by a foreign company.

A financial report on King’s website states that USD6 million has been paid upfront and up to USD84 million is planned for contingent consideration. Non-Stop Games will remain based in Singapore and King will retain all of its management and employees.

In a blog post,  CEO and co-founder of Non-Stop Games Juha Paananen wrote, “Both Nonstop Games & King value teams with high level of independence, are passionate about creating games and encourage individuality.”

“As the talks progressed, we felt that King would be the natural home for Nonstop Games and would help us reach our ambitions of creating global games, so we’re now taking the next big leap with King.”
