The Butter Factory closing after lease expires next year

The Butter Factory has announced they’ll be closing down when their One Fullerton lease expires in March next year.

Speaking to Channel NewsAsia, co-founder Tay Eu-Yen explained that although the club has had an amiable negotiation with its landlord Sino Group, they simply haven’t been able to come to a mutual agreement on this one.

Fans of the nightlife brand probably won’t have to mope around for long, though. Ms. Tay has expressed the team’s desire to open a new club with a different name and says they’ve been on the look-out for venues to house the venture.

According to the The Straits Times, enquiries have already been made regarding a site at the Asian Civilisations Museum, whose GeBIZ tender closed on Aug. 26, but Ms. Tay says this is a separate — and confidential — issue.
