When you’re stuck in the middle, there’s no way to go but up, right? We so hope passengers affected by this news get upgraded to first class.
Singapore Airlines says Premium Economy seats on Airbus A380 flights will not be available for some confirmed bookings because of a delays in its ‘seat installation programme’.
Among those affected are flights to New York, Sydney, London, Zurich and Paris. Some will only get them in October, others in March next year.
SIA says customers with ticketed bookings who are affected by the delays will be contacted progressively by Singapore Airlines or travel agents to offer alternative travel arrangements.
Compared to good ol’ regular coach, Premium Economy has more leg room, a spacious seat upholstered in leather and extra inches of seat recline. Passengers also get noise-cancelling headphones and a 13-3-inch full HD monitor to watch in-flght entertainment.
Launched in May, Premium Economy Class was to be progressively introduced on 19 Airbus A380s, 19 Boeing 777-300ERs and the first 20 Airbus A350s.
