Surely this dude knows that cutting boards exist? A coffee shop stall assistant was captured on video descaling and trimming raw fish on the floor at the back of the establishment. Probably a crucial technique in the secret recipe.
In all seriousness though, it’s a pretty disgusting sight. The worker can be seen scrubbing and knifing the fish on the filthy floor, right next to an open drain.
When Shin Min Daily News dropped by the stall in Bukit Panjang, reporters were horrified to see bottles of condiments and a bucket of unwashed dishes at the back next to a rubbish collection point.
A spokesman for the stall in subject has since apologized for the worker’s behavior, calling it a “momentary lapse of judgment” on his part. Judging by the video though, the food handler looks like he’s pretty used to squatting on the floor to do his job. Safe to say that patrons might be staying away from the stall for a while.
