Bukit Gombak Stadium and field along Bukit Batok Industrial Park A designated as rally sites

The date has been set for voters to head to the polls for the Bukit Batok by-election, and the two candidates vying for the seat of power has been confirmed this morning.

Though some fightin’ words have already been exchanged, the rallies are where the true excitement will unfold. The police have announced today that the rallies may be held from Apr 28 till May 7 in the hours between 7am and 10pm at the two designated sites: Bukit Gombak Stadium and the field along Bukit Batok Industrial Park A.

As usual, large crowds are expected at the election meetings, and motorists travelling within the vicinity should be prepared for traffic diversions or lane closures. Parking is not allowed along periphery roads, and so are your drones.

The demarcation of the Speakers’ Corner at Hong Lim Park as an “Unrestricted Area” has also been temporarily revoked — meaning no protests or speeches area allowed during the election period. The “Unrestricted Area” status and exemption status of the Speakers’ Corner will be reinstated after Polling Day on May 7.
