Bukit Batok’s rat infestation woes near the MRT station may be more or less over but at what cost? It’s a question that netizen James Tann poses in his two uploaded photos on Facebook, depicting the damage done to the hills in the quest to ensure a sterile environment.

Looking more like a war-zone than the green hills residents of Bukit Batok are accustomed to, netizens have raised concerns about soil erosion and stagnant water pools that mosquitoes can breed in. Others, however, say that it’s a necessary evil, and no matter what is done, people will still complain about one thing or another.
