Boy dies after being found unconscious at Resorts World Sentosa swimming pool

A family had their vacation end in tragedy when their seven-year-old boy was found unconscious at a hotel swimming pool at Resorts World Sentosa last Sunday.

Lianhe Wanbao reports that attempts by the lifeguard to administer cardiopulmonary resuscitation on the boy failed to revive him. The paramedics who arrived shortly were also unable to resuscitate him, and rushed him to Singapore General Hospital, where he subsequently died.

Singapore Civil Defence Force officers informed The New Paper that the boy was found at the scene with neither pulse nor signs of breathing.

The hotel management closed public access to the pool after the incident, and Resorts World Sentosa issued a statement indicating that they are assisting the police with investigations.
