If you’re making a trip to the National Museum of Singapore today, you might see a book vending machine chilling out by the wall. Brought to you by BooksActually, to encourage the public to read on-the-go and check out Singaporean literature, this is one of the three machines launched across the country. Another sits at the Singapore Visitor Centre on Orchard Road, and a third will soon pop up at Goodman Arts Centre in mid-June.
According to the bookstore’s Facebook page, they’re still working out some of the kinks, which include books possibly getting stuck (Facebook message them for a bank transfer refund if that happens) and the machine dispensing more than one book (lucky you, then).
Here’s a look at the selection available. Kinda cool, huh.
