Members of the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) spent the afternoon of Jan. 2 pulling dead bodies out of the water.
One of them was that of a man in his 60s, found floating in the Singapore River in front of The Riverwalk. SCDF had received a call at about 4pm about the body, which was dressed in a short-sleeved shirt and bermudas.
At about the same time, the authorities received a call about another dead body sighting at Kallang River. The man is said to have been in his 40s.
