Riders in Singapore know the pain of seeing automated carwashes, longing for a day when there’s a similar service for their dirty two-wheelers.
Well, the day of automated washing services for motorbikes is here — or rather has been here since early 2017. After a couple of false starts last year and a soft launch back in March, Bike Spa Singapore’s bike-washing service has returned following a long bout of system maintenance.
Located at the Caltex Service Station in Bukit Merah, the machine is up and running again following a grand opening on Sunday (yeah, you probably missed the free wash day). Said to be the first Bike Spa machine to be housed at a service station, the fully-automated bike wash system for motorcycles and scooters cleans up bikes of all shapes and sizes within a matter of minutes.
Watch how it works here.
Getting a proper clean-up isn’t that expensive either. The costliest option — a pressure wash with detergent and water wax — will only set you back $10.
Though it may seem like a fresh concept, automatic bike washing machines have been around for quite some time in other countries such Chile, Germany, India, and Vietnam. Took us long enough, really.
