A bush fire broke out at Ketam Bike Trail on Pulau Ubin on Wednesday night and was extinguished by around midnight, confirmed the Singapore Police Force (SPF) today.
According to Channel NewsAsia, the fire started raging from as early as 9:15pm and spanned an area of about two football fields.
The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) was alerted at about 9:18pm and dispatched at least 10 officers, one fire engine, one Red Rhino and one special vehicle to the scene.
Nothing’s too hot for the SCDF to handle — the fire was eventually extinguished using four canvas beaters and A BUCKET OF WATER.
Thankfully no evacuation had to be done and no injuries were reported, said a SCDF spokesperson. The cause of the fire is still being investigated. After all, there’s no smoke without fire.
There are only 30-odd residents in the tiny island.
