Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong posted on his Facebook page that a barn owl did a surprise visit to his office on Nov. 20.
In his post, he wrote that the beautiful owl had perched itself comfortably after flying into the building overnight.
The Agri-Food and Veterinary Authority (AVA) and the Bird Park was informed and managed to safely capture the owl before releasing it behind Sri Temasek — a double-storey detached house constructed in 1869 within the grounds of the Istana in Singapore.
Mr. Lee also added that there is a need to preserve and create many such green spaces in Singapore, so that Singaporeans can enjoy the the natural flora and fauna amidst the urban environment.
The post has since garnered more than a thousand comments, some of which are light-hearted.
One user even commented that the owl was there to deliver a letter to Mr. Lee from Hogwarts — the fictional school of magic in the Harry Potter series.
