Bank account of Filipino maid who won $2.3-million lottery prize unfrozen by police

Not funny at all.

A Filipino maid who won a $2.3-million Singapore Sweep prize in June can finally access her bank account which had been frozen by the police following a report, lodged by an unidentified person, that claimed the winning ticket had been stolen.

According to The Straits Times, police rang the 44-year-old maid on Thursday evening to give her the good news.

Throughout the investigation, the maid’s 62-year-old boss vouched for her employee’s honesty. She has been working for them for 14 years.

The question is — will police now question the person who lodged the false report?
